On our final day, Jo and I went for a goodbye swim to Secret Beach. The beach was deserted and the water clear and warm. We swam out about 50ft and suddenly a dolphin leapt out in front of us, then another then another in sequence for nearly half an hour as if they were auditioning for Sea World. We bobbed in the water for nearly half an hour, surrounded by this exceptional show from these magnificent creatures. It was the absolute highlight of our stay and gives us a strong pull back to the house. I had forgotten what a magical place this is and the whole experience is topped of by your impeccable hospitality.

We had a wonderful time at your beautiful home in Kilauea. The setting was beyond belief and the house was perfect for family fun. We enjoyed the pool, the hot tub and the tennis court in addition to the fantastic wrap around porch from which we watched for the whales at every opportunity. The hike down to the beach will never be forgotten-what an adventure and what a feeling of accomplishment once we were down.

Anne and Tim’s wedding day was the most perfect day of the whole week-brilliant sunshine and sparkling waves. As serious skiers we weren’t too excited about taking a winter holiday in the tropics but now we’re sold on Kauai so you may have us back some day. Your home is comfortable in every way and the kitchen lacks for nothing. We enjoyed the chef you recommended on the wedding day and cooked in the rest of the time-cooking is so easy in your fabulous facility. We did do the Luau at Smiths and we all loved it, so if anyone else asks please refer them to it.

Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful piece of paradise.

I just wanted to let you know that I had the pleasure of staying in your home this past week for a friend’s wedding (Brenna and Greg) and wanted you to know that it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life staying in the house. You don’t miss a beat, and everything is spectacular. As sad as I was to depart the house and the island on Thursday, I do know that someday I will (with the grace of god) be back and stay there once again with friends or family in the future.

A few things that happened during the week that makes it difficult to resume to my day-to-day here in New York City:

- I had to put the heat on last night. It was 37 degrees on the way to work today!
-I did not have the option to lie in a hammock today when I got up.
-I did not wake up with pruned hands from over-exposure in the hot tub.
-I did not wake up in a bathing suit (dry, of course).
-I did not have the option to play tennis this morning before 9 am.
-I went for a run on Saturday at my beach house in NJ and had to wear long sleeves and something fuzzy on my head.
-And I also feel entitled to my own personal hot tub, pool, and sexy bamboo shower.

Somehow life is not the same anymore.

Mahalo for a wonderful stay!”

We’re here and couldn’t be happier! Your home is lovely, masterfully appointed and the view is beyond words. Well done!

Dahlia, just a quick note to say thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. So many details that show much love and attention. We are tired, but very comfortable. I could certainly get used to the view!
The flowers are stunning. The Balinese dinner was magnificent. And the sushi appetizer was gobbled up. Wonderful to walk into a prestocked kitchen. We simply could not have asked for a better first night.

Every aspect of our visit was excellent. Each one of our group of 11 loved the property, the home, and the island. We made extensive use of the kitchen (loved it!), the pool area, and lounging spaces around the house. The home offered plenty of space that allowed us to spread out and have some privacy or to gather together as a large group. We enjoyed having the option of eating our meals together at either the beautiful dining room table or on the lanai. Other favourite features for our group were the access to the beach below (we thought of it as a great workout), the audio system throughout the space, the decor, the walking labyrinth, the herb garden, and the laundry facilities. All of the rooms had excellent views and features but their were mixed reviews on the beds as they seemed to vary in firmness/softness. Luckily, our group was able to adjust and shift rooms so that people were able to have their preferred level of firmness to sleep well (so it ended up as a feature).
